For this I give you praise

Lord we woke up this morning and we noticed that the sun rose in the sky and began to shine
The birds began to sing your praise as the day began
The trees were already bowing to acknowledge your presence as the gentle breeze encouraged them.
We sit up in our beds or where ever we had fallen asleep and we take for granted the fact that our spirit, mind and body are still functioning.
We have something to look forward to as we rise
We have a new day to make a difference, to make changes,
We awake to a new chance for hope and action that will lead to victory
We awake to new opportunities
We fall on our knees and give you thanks oh God because your are our rock and our salvation.
You are Him in whom we trust
Thank you for being the first hope of our day,
Thank you for being first feeling we experience each day
Thank you for the first breath we take in the morning
Thank you Lord for being there when we awaken and for watching over us while we sleep.
Thank you Lord for loving us
For This and so many other things, I Give You Praise.

Blessing

Blessing and honor, glory and power to you almighty God.  Father we thank you for yet another day.  This is another time of refreshing, another opportunity to do something good.  We thank you that the sun chose to rise again and that the earth still spins.  We thank you O God for your mercies which are new every morning.  Please renew our minds today Lord God and help us to see with new eyes.  May our hearts search for you and find you this morning.  Oh Lord, we give you praise!  Blessings begin to fall when we praise you. Hope comes alive when we praise you.  Possibilities show themselves and  doors open when we praise you!  You make our enemies to be at peace with us or you move them far from us.  For this O God, we give you praise! Today my enemies are conquered and today we stand at the precipice of new beginnings, new opportunities, new challenges which hold new blessings behind every door.  As we lift up our sword of the word and begin to charge into this day, Lord, we give you praise!  In the mighty and miraculous name of Jesus the Christ we pray.  Amen

I hear you calling out to me as I sit lost in sin.
I saw your hands of love stretched out to me and I looked up and said, "I'm so dirty Lord, I'm sitting here in the mud,
You said,"  Take my hand, I'll wash you clean and give you new clothes."
I looked into your hands and I saw a hole.  I asked you about the hole in the palm of your hand and you told me that there were holes in your feet also.
I wondered why you were reaching to help me when you seemed to need so much help yourself.
You looked me in the eyes and told me that you did it all for me.
I looked at your hands, and your head, and your feet, and I burst into tears.
suddenly I began to feel relief like I had never felt before
I felt lighter, like a weight had been lifted from me
All the guilt was melting away
All the sorrow was disappearing
All the anger was gone
everything inside me felt new.
It felt as though I was being given another chance.  I felt as though I was going to have a new start with nothing holding me back.
I reached out for Your hands and You lifted me up.
My soul began to shout within me and my feet began to dance.
I was free!  I was free!
I felt forgiven in a way that I had never felt before.  I really WAS forgiven.  I had been forgiven by someone with the power to forgive and take all the pain and dirt away.  It was like being born again.
I fell on my knees and began to weep and to worship and to praise the one who had the power to forgive like that.  You told me that your name IS Jesus, and that You are the Christ.  You had come for me.  You had died for me. You rose again to sit on the right hand of God so that one day I could join you, no longer condemned to sin and death and eternal flame and torture.
I AM FREE!

Thank you Holy Father for sending your only son to save me from my sins.  I believe that He is your son and that He died on the cross for me.  I believe Jesus, that you rose again.  Please never leave me.  Please lead me, guide me, teach me and help me to be the person that you created me to be.  In Jesus name.  Amen

THE CALL

I hear your voice in the quiet stillness of the night.  I know you're calling me.
My heart starts to beat quickly,
A little taste of fear is in my mouth.
You're calling me into a new tomorrow
You're asking me to move my feet to this new path
My spirit jumps within me pushing me to say yes,
My soul is hesitant, holding back.  not for lack of love for you Lord, but fear of the unknown
As I think about it, actually, each new day is part of the unknown
But insecurity floods back in.  My spirit and my soul compete for comfort
I remind myself that my savior wasn't comfortable.  In fact He was tortured
Now all He asks of me is that I tell people why he was tortured.
All He asks of me is to point in the direction of his mercy
Now all He asks of me is that I open my mouth to tell about the secret love I have for Him,
Can I do it?  I think about Peter and Paul and I wonder how they did it.  It's much easier for me, I have no one chasing me, I'm not bringing the news of a virtual unknown,
Should I surrender?
Will I be able to do it?
Will I be able to give my everything?
But wait, When I cried out to you oh Lord, did you hesitate ?
Did you ever turn your back on me?
Did you pretend that I wasn't there when I was standing in the dark with my arms outstretched to you?
No, never.
You never left me alone.
I surrender.  I surrender.  I give you everything.  Use me as you will.  I am yours Lord.  I can only hope that I don't disappoint.  You are mine and I am yours.  I surrender.  Lead and I will follow.

(The call is real.  When you hear it.  Answer.  He will hold you up.  The work will be yours, but the words and the response is all Him and it is all His.  When He is lifted up, HE will draw men unto himself.)

Peace that Passes All Understanding

Trouble rushes around us like the swirling waves of an angry ocean,
but deep inside we have peace
Crime is rampant everywhere,
but deep inside we have peace
We hear the angry shouts of those who are lost, but we hear your voice saying, "Peace, be still".
The news is all about how terrible humans are.  No wonder we aren't behaving better
The children only hear news about the sins of the people shouting at them from their televisions, but deep inside they know...there is a better way...there is hope.
You speak to our souls when we are still, when we are asleep, when we lift up our heads to the heavens, there you are whispering into our souls - shhh Peace... be still.
You tell us that you are with us always.
We know that we are not alone.
Our fears are quieted.
Our souls rejoice as peace comes over us like a flood.
Our tears are drying as peace is coming like a blanket to cover us with it's welcoming warmth.
We realize that we don't need pills, or subliminal music.
We don't need any of the supplements that are sold over the airwaves
We just need you Lord
We just need you Father
Your word speaks to us and we find peace.
Your presence hovers over us Father and we find peace.

Blessings and honor, glory and power be unto you oh Lord my God..
You are the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end,
You are he who is, who was and who ever shall be,
We shout hallelujah to your name oh God for you are worthy of highest praise!
We thank you that all the chains that are holding us down are broken at the mention of your name,
We thank you Lord that our enemies have been put in their place because of you,
Father we know that we walk by faith and not by sight.  Thank you oh God that we have blinders on when it comes to the negativity and unbelief of the world.
Thank you father for plugging our ears so that we can continue to dance and shout to the music of the spirit of the most high God.  Lord the music of the world speaks of pain and death, the music of the spirit speaks of love, mercy, hope, victory!  It speaks so loudly that it can drown out the fear that the world tries to feed us.  Praise your name father God!!

Prayers for a loved one who is sick

Merciful Heavenly Father, I come before you in the mighty and miraculous name of Jesus Christ.  Lord we pray in His name because He told us to.  He said, "Before now you have asked nothing in my name, ask and you shall receive and your joy will be complete." John 16:24.  So we come before you Oh Lord our God in the name of Jesus.  Father we see that in Jesus ministry on earth, he healed all who wanted it.  Often he told the people that their own faith had made them well.  Sometimes He just laid his hands on people and they were healed.  I know that you are not a respecter of people.  You don't do something for one person but not for another, so I am now asking that you would heal my loved one.  Lord there are some things that are impossible with man, but they are possible with You, oh my God.  I ask that your Holy Spirit cover them from the top of their heads to the souls of their feet.  Father you didn't create us to be full of sickness and disease.  I know that your desire for us is health and healing.  Thank you God for wrapping your wings of healing around my family member and we joyfully await full healing in Jesus name.  Amen.

Prayer for a job

Jehovah Jireh, The God who is my provider.  I come to you this morning in the mighty and miraculous name of Jesus Christ.  Father I'm just going to cut to the chase.  I need a job.  I don't have flowery words, I just have a need.  My family has a need.  Lord we need to have the basics in order to survive.  We need to be able to pay rent and insurance and car note.  We need to be able to buy food.  You are the God who is more than enough.  You are Jehovah Jireh.  Lord i want to work, so please open doors for me.  Put me in a place where I can feel productive.  Help me to find favor with my supervisor and my fellow workers.  Give me wisdom, skill and knowledge so that I can do a good job.  Lastly Father, I need to make a certain amount in order to take care of my family.  Father when the Israelites were hungry in the desert, you made manna fall from heaven.  Lord, your word tells us in Philippians 4:6-8, "Be anxious for nothing, but with everything by prayer, supplication and thanksgiving, make your requests known to God."  Well Father, I'm asking in prayer and I'm thanking you in advance for your blessing of abundance.  There is a story in the bible Lord where a widow woman ran to a prophet to tell them that her husband had died and she couldn't pay her bills.  The collectors were about to come and take her children to sell them into slavery in order to collect her debt.  Father, you filled so many jars with oil for her, that she was able to pay off her debtors and all her debt.  She knew who to ask, and she wasn't too proud to ask.  I know who to ask and I'm thanking you in advance because you are a good and an awesome God.  You knew my need before I asked, but it is my job to ask.  "Ask and you shall receive".  That's the promise you gave.  I'm standing on it  and I thank you again in advance.  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen.

A prayer for finances

Dear Father, I find myself in need of help.  I can't pay my bills and I feel as though I'm being buried in a pile of debt.  I can't see any way out and I'm just afraid.  You, Oh Lord can help me.  I know that you can.  I'll just quiet myself and listen to you.  It's hard, though, because my heart is beating so loudly that I can barely focus.  I know, I'll just read the 23rd psalm out loud over and over until my soul is quiet.  Thank you Lord for giving me that word of wisdom.  Lord, I need your help.  I confess that I spent too much, saved too little, and my eyes light up when I see new gadgets, cars, clothes, purses, technology, or shoes.  Help me to develop more self control and to begin to save.  Help me to follow your word when it comes to finances and not to follow the advice of the world.  I know that their advice only makes them richer and puts me further in debt.  I will "Owe no man anything."  Your word tells me this.  I will "neither a lender, nor a borrower be", because your word tells me so.  You also tell me to "give to caesar what is caesar's and give to God what belongs to God".  I will trust in you Lord and I will give my tithes first.  It is very scary for me to do that, but I will.  I will begin to pay off my small bills one at a time, and I will be regular with my larger bills.  Father, when I call to make arrangements, or to put a payment in the rear of any of my loans please be with me.  In fact Lord please go before me  and prepare the hearts of the people with whom I will be speaking.  Lead me and guide me in the way that I should go.  I promise I will listen and follow.
    Lord if it is necessary, and I think it is, please help me to get another job.  Please arrange the pay so that it is helpful.  Please place a supervisor over me who will look on me with favor.  While I'm asking, please make my new supervisor be a person who knows and loves You and who walks in your way.  I thank you that I will be able to quickly pay off my bills and that I will still have time to be with my family.  Your word says, "I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you.  Plans for a future and a hope". (Jeremiah 29:11) I claim that word father, in Jesus name.

Thank you father for all that you do.  May your name be praised forever, and your praise will continually flow from my mouth.  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen.

Prayer for those who have lost a loved one

A prayer for you to say;

Heavenly Father I come to you in the mighty and miraculous name of Jesus Christ.  Lord I want to lift up my family to you today.  I want to lift them up to you the way the people in the bible brought their friends before you as you walked down the road of their towns.  I don't think they can bring themselves right now.  They are hurting with the loss of our loved one.  Father, I hear people saying not to worry because we'll see them again one day, but that doesn't help.  It doesn't ease the pain I/we feel right now.  I hang on to the knowledge that you wept, and I know that since we are not greater than you, it's ok if we weep.  It feels like a deep hole right in the center of our chests.  Help us Lord, you are the only one who can help.  I pray for joy in the morning because I/we have tears of sorrow right now.  I pray for hope for tomorrow because today seems so dark.  I'm so thankful that You are here with us right now.  I'm thankful that You know our/my pain.  You who are unseen, give such hope and such peace.  We thank you right now Lord God that you never leave us.  Even in our darkest hour, we are never alone.  I thank you Lord for your love.

A prayer for you from me;

Heavenly Father, I pray right now for all those who are grieving due to the loss of a loved one.  Heavenly Father comfort them and give them your peace.  Help them to know that there is sorrow right now, but the pain will eventually ease and the sorrow will lessen.  I pray that each tear will remind them of an instance of joy or a moment of laughter that they shared with their loved one.  I pray that they will know that even though they can't see them, their loved ones are right in the next room.  It's like being in a big house, or even in a small one.  If you are in one room and your family member is in another room, you can't see them, but you know that they are there and you know that eventually you will see them.  Help them to know dear Lord that their family member is just in another room not far away.  Comfort and console them Oh Lord.  Give them your peace.  Let it be that peace which rests deep inside the soul of a person.  Help them to sleep and guard their dreams.  Cause them to feel your presence and strengthen them in their inner beings.  Love them so that they know they are being loved.  Comfort them so that they know they are being comforted.  Help them to rise up and stand securely in the bright sunshine of a new day.  May they remember with fondness and walk forward with joy.  Please turn their mourning into dancing when the time is right.  They can miss our loved ones when they go, but they will remember them with fondness and tell the stories of their lives.  That way their family members will not really be gone, but they will live on in the memories of their children and their children's children.  Thank you for choosing them to be your children Lord.  Thank you for holding them in your arms in their time of need.  May those who read this be filled with your spirit, your presence, your hope and your joy and may their sorrow soon turn into dancing, in Jesus name.  Amen.

A prayer for feelings hurt by gossip

Lord I come humbly before you today.  You know why I'm here dear Lord.  I just can't take it any more.  Their words slice through me as though I were butter and their words were a knife.  Most of what they are saying isn't true.  The rest of it is twisted.  It hurts me anyway.  I try not to seem offended, I laugh when I'm at work, but silently I'm hurting.  I really don't like it.  I wish they would stop.  Please give me beauty for ashes.  Surround my heart with your love.  Help me to see past their pettiness and mean spirited behavior.  Change me, O Lord so that I can stand above all that.  Make their comments become dust in a drought and blow them away.  I will watch them blow down the street and I will give you praise.  I will watch the people be moved from my presence, or I be moved from theirs, because I am a child of the most high God.  I will laugh with joy at my deliverance and I will sing a song of praise as I walk down the hall.  I will give thanks to thee O Lord for you are great and mighty.  You care about the great and the small.  You hear the smallest prayer of my heart and you rise to defend me, your child.  I thank you Lord for teaching them; I thank you Father for teaching me.  I am stronger and I know "from whence my help comes.  My help comes from you."  Thank you that You are always here for me.  Thank you that I can come to You in my time of need even with the smallest things.  Thank you for the love and concern you always show me.  I love you Lord Jesus.  In your name I pray.  Amen.

Prayer for awaiting test results from the doctor

Heavenly Father I bless your name.  I thank you for all that you do and for the way you care for me.  I thank you that you have taken all my fears and trepidations and locked them away from me.  I know that whatever the doctor says is only part of the story.  The other part belongs to you.  After they have done their best, I know father that you will do the rest.  Sometimes You even correct the situation before any doctor can begin.  Whatever Your plan is Lord, I'm in.  I thank you for positive results today.  I thank you for good news.  Help me not to be afraid.  Help me not to speak negative words.  Please keep my mind refreshed and plant a new word in me so that it will grow up like a tall tree.  May it's branches of hope spread throughout my body and give me peace.  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen.

A prayer for traffic

Lord please go before me today.  I know that you can move careless drivers out of my way.  I thank you for making my path safe and for keeping me focused as I go.  Please fill my day with song and my heart with praise.  I thank you that before I hit a traffic jam you will guide me around it.  I believe that you can do it.  I am your child, so I know you will.  Thank you Father in advance.  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen.

Thank You Lord for the Victory!

Thank you Lord for the victory today.  I both believe and declare that today is a day of victory!  Father we bless you and we magnify you.  We give you honor, glory and praise.  Lord you are He who brings victory to the small and meek.  You make the mighty small and in our weakness, you are made strong.  Thank you Lord for walking with us today.  Thank you for loving us and for teaching us to wait on you.  Sometimes we muddle through the day because we have forgotten that you went before us to prepare a victorious day long before we woke.  We look to this day with joy and rejoicing because of the favor we will find today.  Our meetings, classes, children, and jobs are a blessing and will make our hearts glad today.  We go forward expecting miracles, expecting successes, expecting victories, expecting positive outcomes and we thank you that you have done it all for us.  We love you Lord.  In Jesus name we pray.  Amen.
