Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! The reference to Jesus as THE lamb of God is found about 29 times. The symbols which could be associated with a lamb taking away sin and allowing for restoration to God began 2000 years before Christ was born. The lamb was recognized as a sacrifice which saved people from eternal punishment. John 1:29 Behold the lamb. Peter 1:18-19 Redeemed by the blood. Revelations 5:12-14 All heaven worshipped the lamb. Revelations 21:27. Only the Lamb is worthy to hold the book of life. Thank you Lord for your sacrifice.
